Salto donates technology to Rainbow Village to support homeless families

February 17, 2025 - Company News

Salto North America recently donated computers and tablets to Rainbow Village, reinforcing the nonprofit’s commitment to supporting homeless families in the Atlanta area.

"Rainbow Village is doing incredible work to support homeless families, and Salto is proud to contribute to their mission," said Tanya Turner, Director of Human Resources at Salto North America.

Rainbow Village, a transitional housing program based in the Atlanta area, provides apartment homes and a range of support services to homeless families with children. While many of the families served are single mothers with children, the program also supports single fathers, couples, and even grandparents raising grandchildren.

This donation is part of Salto's ongoing effort to give back to the communities where its employees live and work. Although the donated devices might be considered older technology for a high-tech enterprise, they are still in excellent working condition, continuing to serve a meaningful purpose. Salto's Business Application Support Specialist Jacob McClelland reset and restored the computers and tablets, giving them a second life for those in need. McClelland will continue providing this assistance, as Salto has committed to donating devices to Rainbow Village on an ongoing basis.

"By refurbishing these devices, we’re not only reducing e-waste, but we’re also providing essential tools that can help families thrive," said Turner. "This collaboration between Salto and Rainbow Village demonstrates the powerful impact of combining technology, compassion, and community support to create lasting change."

Melanie Connor, CEO of Rainbow Village, expressed deep gratitude for the donation.

“Salto’s thoughtful in-kind donation is an incredible gift that will empower the families we serve,” said Connor. “These devices mean more than tools – they represent opportunities for learning, growth, and connection for those rebuilding their lives. Thank you for helping us drive meaningful change in the community.”
