Student Experience is one of the largest residences in the Community of Madrid. Located in Pozuelo de Alarcón, it has over 30,000 square meters and 600 beds, and stands out for its sustainability, technology and design.
The studios are 23m² in size, featuring a coffee area, private bathroom, and terrace. To provide students with a unique experience, the complex includes luxurious facilities such as multifunctional lounges and study rooms, an interior courtyard pool, a rooftop padel court, a gym equipped with high-end machines, laundry, restaurant, private dining room, and much more.
Designed by the prestigious AGAS Arquitectos, Student Experience meets the highest standards of energy efficiency, with “A” certification, and measures have been implemented such as rainwater harvesting, solar panels that generate energy for the building, electric vehicle charging stations, green roofs, and a wide selection of local flora to minimize the carbon footprint as much as possible.
The Madrid complex was the first in Spain in the chain of university residences of the Dutch operator Student Experience. Its second complex, located in Granada, opened in May 2024.

The challenge for Student Experience is to meet the needs of hundreds of university students, ensuring they can enjoy all the comforts during their stay in Spain as they focus on their studies. Prioritizing guest well-being, staying ahead with the latest technology, and maintaining 24/7 security are all essential to their mission.
To fulfill these needs, Student Experience contacted Salto. “In our residence, they supported us from the project phase, providing clarity to decisions regarding access control and actively participating in the implementation and management of the system once the residence opened”, stated Francisco Manuel Martín, Technical Manager at Student Experience.

In order to offer maximum comfort and security to students, Student Experience has opted for a smart, keyless, digital access system, featuring simplified check-in and check-out processes. This system also ensures enhanced security, integrated with the center’s management systems.
The Salto ProAccess software has been installed, a powerful access control management tool whose functions allow the student residence to make the most of the building’s access control. Through a single centralized platform, they have the ability to manage the facilities in a simple, flexible, and secure way.
Users enjoy a seamless experience when they enter the building, using a card or their cell phone, thus avoiding the hassle of lost or stolen keys.
“Each student has access to the services they have contracted and which are adapted to their needs, for example, in the case of individuals with reduced mobility, the system triggers all the doors they need to access with extended timing, ensuring a smooth, unhurried entry and making Salto’s solutions feel more natural to use. Similarly, for users of parking spaces, the system allows for automatic opening of garage access doors through long-distance readers, enabling vehicle access without the need to roll down windows or stop the vehicle”.
The 600 rooms have been equipped with the smart, secure, innovative and easy to use XS4 One locks. The XS4 One is an all-in-one smart lock, designed to integrate into all kinds of doors, points of access or retrofitted doors.
XS4 One have also been installed in common areas, such as study halls, gym, dining room, etc.
To enhance security in perimeter areas, a total of 65 wall-mounted readers have been installed at the residence, ensuring safe access to protected zones. These readers are compatible with RFID technology, mobile access, and PIN code entry, providing users with a convenient and secure way to gain entry.
Similarly, 12 additional wall readers have been installed for elevator control, as well as two long-distance XS wall readers at the parking entrance.
