SALTO provides Astra Fall Creek with an established fully integrated hospitality access control solution that now allows them to run the hotel smoothly and securely, both in terms of cost and efficiency.
Owners Seumas Dawes and Rosie Seaton want to give guests a sophisticated and inclusive ski experience and that includes secure but convenient security during their stay. Having previously using mechanical keys, during a recent comprehensive renovation of the property it was decided to replace these with electronic access control to match the high end feel of the lodge.
Astra Falls Creek appointed security company Lockworx Australia to carry out the work. Director of Lockworx Australia, Peter Barton, says: “When approaching this project we knew making sure guest rooms were secured by using the latest high technology products was a major priority. So our focus was not just on the sale but also on providing the customer with extensive advice to make sure the solution recommended was both the right choice for the property and cost effective. “
To manage security needs both front and back of house Lockworx Australia recommended an electronic access control solution from SALTO Systems.
Barton explains “We selected SALTO’s XS4 next generation keyless access control solution as it’s easy to use and integrates all physical security needs through networked, stand-alone locks and online readers, giving real-time access control for virtually all of the doors at the lodge.”
SALTO’s innovative, wire-free technology allows standalone electronic escutcheons to read, receive and write information via its contactless smart cards. This data is captured from the cards at Salto SVN online IP access points located at strategic points around the lodge. The updating points upload and download user related information that is then used to permit, control or deny access.
Astra Falls Creek also opted for Bluetooth SMART (BLE) versions of the handle sets as this gives them the flexibility and convenience of contactless cards with the ability to use mobile keys as and when they choose, allowing guests to make a booking and have their room key sent straight to their smart phone.
They liked the aesthetics of the SALTO locks, the easy to use SPACE software and complete product range for all types of doors. To this end Lockworx Australia has installed XS4 handle sets in an attractive brushed stainless steel finish to 50 front of house and 10 back of house doors, complemented by 5 updating points and 20 XS4 locker locks in the ski storage area.
