As Salto commemorates 25 years of game-changing smart access solutions, what started as a small team is now a global industry success story. Our anniversary honours our continued leadership in the smart access ecosystem through an ongoing commitment to sustainability, community impact, and technological innovation. Here, we take a look back at some of the highlights of this milestone year.
Since our founding 25 years ago, Salto has been defined by one shared purpose: opening doors, not just in buildings and spaces, but to better human connections and technological progress. Now, Salto is a leading global access solutions provider – part of the SALTO WECOSYSTEM – that continues to redefine the smart access experience. New products, pioneering technologies, and impactful community engagement have marked another year of growth in 2025.
Continuing our smart access ecosystem’s evolution with multiple product launches
This year has seen Salto launch several exciting new products:
- Early in the year, we introduced XS4 Face and XS4 Com, which fully integrate face recognition and all-in-one smart door intercom functionality to further enrich our smart access ecosystem.
- Our core hardware offering was further refined with the introduction of the XS4 One S electronic smart lock system. Its broad range of models can be easily retrofitted to any existing standard door and mortise lock.
- Salto’s next-generation retrofit electronic locker lock, the XS4 Eco Lock, brings all the advantages of smart access control to lockers and cabinets while eliminating the need for complex wiring and additional infrastructure. Playing its part in making buildings smarter and more connected to user needs, this solution represents the latest stage of our ongoing hardware development process, effortlessly upgrading storage spaces and locker sites and allowing users to experience the future of secure access.
- In recognition of our continued commitment to sustainability, we achieved verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for the XS4 Original range of universal smart locks, our wireless electronic Neo Cylinder tech, and our Access Controller solutions for building management systems.
- Salto never loses sight of the need for intelligent, secure access control solutions in the residential sector. Our cloud-based Homelok Resident Digital Key Experience, launched in April, enhances access management and convenience for homeowners, as well as in communal living spaces worldwide.
- Built for seamless integration with the entire Salto smart access ecosystem, Salto IDM empowers organisations to manage physical identities by role, providing detailed tracking of employees, visitors, contractors, and more – all from one intuitive, web-based platform.
- Reflecting the increased role of smartphones in our everyday lives, the launch of the JustIN Mobile NFC on iOS completely eliminates the need for physical keys or keycards. Working seamlessly with existing Salto Space, the platform further expands the capabilities and compatibility of our mobile access solutions.
- Salto announces the launch of XS4 Sense, a smart, wireless Energy Efficiency and Control Management System designed to optimize energy consumption, reduce CO₂ emissions, and support sustainability goals – that’s fully integrated with the Salto smart access ecosystem.
- Smart locking solutions and advanced access control technologies are transforming how we protect and manage residential spaces. DLok represents the latest evolution of Salto’s smart home locking technology, delivering a universal, motorised smart lock that integrates seamlessly with our Homelok smart living ecosystem to redefine the residential access experience.
Regardless of each product’s specific role in your smart access solution, they all have one thing in common: they all integrate seamlessly into the existing Salto ecosystem. Indeed, our vision for a connected, intelligent environment was realised with the launches of the XS4 Com, XS4 Face, Salto IDM, and XS4 Sense in 2025.
These launches combine door access, locker systems, intercom, face recognition, ID management, and energy efficiency into a single smart access ecosystem. Salto’s unified platform provides complete peace of mind in corporate, public, private, or residential settings.
Growth, empowerment, and impact
Our 25 years of growth, innovation, and commitment to excellence represent a significant milestone in an industry that’s in a constant state of evolution. That process is only gathering pace in the digital age, requiring continuing commitment to growth to maintain Salto’s position as an industry leader.
July 2025 saw the opening of a new business unit in Lithuania, further expanding the SALTO WECOSYSTEM and increasing the number of people who use our technology daily to over 40 million. This represents some 10 million access points in over 40,00 locations worldwide.
Certification and security
We were proud to receive affirmation of our ongoing commitment to information security and privacy management in 2025, with the renewal of our ISO 27001 certification after a successful audit. For the first time, companies developing Salto products are now integrated into a single, unified Information Security Management System (ISMS).
This demonstrates that SALTO WECOSYSTEM methodologies, processes, and procedures are aligned across the board. Such ongoing dedication to excellence has characterised Salto’s approach throughout these 25 years.
New Partner Portal
Ever since Salto was founded, our philosophy has been to foster real relationships with our partners rather than simply providing information. This approach ensures we can deliver long-term value and empower partners to differentiate themselves in their respective markets.
As part of that strategy, the new Salto Partner Portal was launched in July of this year as a tool to drive channel collaboration. It brings together everything our partners need in one place, empowering them with the tools required to succeed and simplify business management.
The Partner Relationship Management capabilities available through the portal include instantly accessible sales tools and product specs, an e-learning training and certification platform, and even a sales management, pricing, and project management tool.
Support for partners and users
Partners and end-users alike can now also find additional support through Salto’s dedicated YouTube channel. Featuring installation guides, operational tips, and how-to videos, new content is being added regularly to what will become a comprehensive video support resource.
SALTO FOUNDATION goes from strength to strength
Salto’s already extensive community initiatives received a further boost in 2025 with the launch of the SALTO FOUNDATION website. Founded with the vision of connecting committed individuals with projects focused on sports and social initiatives within the communities where we operate, SALTO FOUNDATION is based around three pillars:
- Access to sport
- Sport for change
- Alliances
A number of new projects in 2025 deepened the reach and impact of our community initiatives, such as the Mugitu – Aspace project in Gipuzkoa, Spain. SALTO FOUNDATION is funding 100% of the activities for this pilot project, which is dedicated to promoting adapted physical activity for people with cerebral palsy and related disabilities.
Meanwhile, the Umoja Sport Foundation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo strives to provide equal access to education for young people, particularly girls aged 10 to 18 who face barriers to education.
Through alliances like these, we work hand in hand with organisations that leverage the power of sport to drive social change. These organisations represent values that align with our own: teamwork, respect, resilience, and positive change.

Over these 25 years, we’ve celebrated immense technological advancements, transformative improvements in our users’ experiences, and the groundbreaking transition from physical key access to digital solutions. The steady constant throughout our story has been the people whose ideas, passion, and drive have made Salto a global leader in smart access solutions.
